Film Studies AS/A2
Film Studies is designed to enrich your existing knowledge about film. You will watch a variety of films, including well known American or British films. The course is ideal for those that are enthusiastic about films or those already undertaking a media related course.
What will I be doing?
Year 1 – AS Level
Unit 1: FM1 Exploring Film Form
Unit 2: FM2 British & American Film
Year 2 – A2 Level
Unit 3: FM3 Research & Creative Projects
Unit 4: FM4 Varieties of Film Experience – Issues & Debates
How will I be assessed?
Units 1 & 3 will be assessed by coursework. Units 2 & 4 will be assessed by external examinations.
Where do I go from here?
Progression to university degrees in Media or related subjects.
Direct entry into employment within Media in a variety of roles.
Entry requirements
AS Level: Five GCSEs at grades A* - C (preferably to include English)
A2 Level: AS Level at grade E or above.
