Spanish - AS / A2
Spanish AS consists in studying four general topic areas through the language skills of Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. You need to be interested in the contemporary society and cultural heritage of Spanish speaking countries or communities. Students will also be able to develop language skills that enable you to communicate effectively and confidently in Spanish
What will I be doing?
Year 1 – AS Level
Youth, Culture and Concerns
Lifestyle, Health and Fitness
The World Around Us; Travel, Tourism, Environmental Issues and the Spanish Speaking World
Education and Employment.
Year 2 – A2 Level
Customs, Traditions, Beliefs and Religions
National and International Events; Past, Present and Future
Literature and the Arts.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment will be by a combination of written and oral examinations
Where do I go from here?
Progression to university degrees in Spanish, Languages or other related subjects.
Direct entry into employment in exciting places abroad or with international organisations.
Entry requirements
AS Level: Five GCSEs at grades A* - C (including Spanish)
A2 Level: AS Level at grade E or above.
