Economics is concerned with the study of the production, distribution and consumption of wealth in human society. Students studying economics will look at the fundamental forces which affect our lives, such as poverty, employment, international trade and prices.

Year 1 – AS Level
Unit 1: Markets in Action
Unit 2: The National & International Economy
Year 2 – A2 Level
Unit 3: Economics of Work & Leisure OR Transport Economics
Unit 4: The Global Economy
Year One AS Level: Units 1 & 2 will be assessed by examinations.
Year Two A2 Level: Units 3 & 4 will be assessed by examinations.
Progression on to university degrees in Economics, Business Studies or related subjects.
Direct entry into employment within business in a variety of roles.
AS Level: Five GCSEs at grades A* - C (preferably to include English Language). Ideally grade B in Mathematics.
A2 Level: AS Level at grade E or above
AS Level – 1 Year
AS & A2 Levels – 2 Years
