Geography is the study of the earth’s surface. It is concerned with where and why things are located as they are. It is concerned with the patterns of phenomena and the processed that create them. This includes looking at people’s responses to different phenomena such as landscapes, climate, soils, vegetations, mountains and rivers. It involves looking at how people construct and manage the built environment around them.

Year 1 – AS Level
Unit 1: Physical Environments
Unit 2: Human Environments
Unit 3: Applied Geographical Skills
Year 2 – A2 Level
Unit 4: Physical Systems, Processes & Patterns
Unit 5: Human Systems, Processes & Patterns
Unit 6: Synoptic – People & their Environments
Year One AS Level: Units 1, 2 & 3 will be assessed by examinations.
Year Two A2 Level: Units 4, 5 & 6 will be assessed by examinations.
Progression on to university degrees in Geography, Town Planning, Retail Management or related subjects.
Direct entry into employment within business in a variety of roles.
AS Level: Five GCSEs at grades A* - C (preferably to include English Language)
A2 Level: AS Level at grade E or above.
AS Level – 1 Year
AS & A2 Levels – 2 Years
