Biology is the study of all living organisms – both animals and plants. It is a subject that can provide you with great enjoyment and respect for all things living. The course develops topics you may have already studied and introduces you to some of the exciting areas of Biology in the contemporary world

Year 1 – AS Level
Unit 1: Cells, Exchange & Transport
Unit 2: Molecules, Biodiversity, Food and Health
Unit 3: Practical Skills in Biology 1
Year 2 – A2 Level
Unit 4: Communication, Homeostasis & Energy
Unit 5: Controls, Genomes and Environment
Unit 6: Practical Skills in Biology 2
Coursework and external examination
Progression to university degrees in healthcare, drug development, health & safety, environmental protection, teaching and other related areas.
Direct entry into employment within industry in a variety of careers.
AS Level: Five GCSE grades A* to C, including at least double science grade BC, Mathematics grade C and English Language grade C.
A2 Level: AS level grade D or above.
AS Level – 1 Year
AS & A2 Levels – 2 Years
